Michael C. Wright of ESPN adds that Rolle s one of their top targets and the Bears appear two be the “frontrunner” for his services.
Rolle has said that he would like to return to the Giants next year, but the two sides hadn’t spoken to one another in recent weeks.
Safety is a big a need for the Bears, but it appeared as though they could target a young safety like Rahim Moore, who spent time working with new Bears HC John Fox in Denver.
Rolle, 32, appeared in all 16 games for the Giants in 2014 and recorded 87 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 81 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
