Bears Tried Out OLBs Jonathan Massaquoi & Lawrence Sidbury

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Bears tried out outside linebackers Jonathan Massaquoi, Lawrence Sidbury and Trevardo Williams this week.

Massaquoi, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2012. He spent a little over three years in Atlanta before he was claimed and later claimed by the Titans back in March.

Unfortunately for Massaquoi, he was cut loose at the start of the season, as Tennessee trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

In 2014, he appeared in 15 games and recorded 22 tackles, two sacks, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has Massaquoi rated as the No. 23 defensive end in a 4-3 defense last year out of 59 qualifying players.

Sidbury, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2009. He spent four seasons with the Falcons before catching on with the Colts in 2013. Since then, he’s had brief stints with the Texans and Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay elected to sign him to a one-year deal back in March, but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts.

Last year, Sidbury was limited to appearing in just a single game and record one tackle.
