Bears Waive RB Joel Bouagnon From I.R. With Settlement

The Chicago Bears officially waived RB Joel Bouagnon from injured reserve with an injury settlement on Wednesday.

Bouagnon, 22, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois back in May. He stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract.

The Bears waived him with an injury designation last week and he later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list.

During his college career, Bouagnon rushed for 2,912 yards on 600 carries (4.9 YPC) to go along with 44 receptions for 368 yards receiving and 34 total touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 43 games.
