Bears Place TE Zach Miller On Injured Reserve

Update:

The Chicago Bears announced that they have place TE Zach Miller on injured reserve.

Miller is a vested veteran, so he isn’t subject to waivers.

According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, the Bears have waived/injured TE Zach Miller following the lisfranc injury he suffered during Thursday’s preseason game.

Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the day that although Miller’s X-rays came back negative, he was believed to have suffered some ligament damage and was likely to be out for some period time.

  • Rapoport adds that the Bears would like to keep Miller.

Miller, 29, signed a reserve/future contract with the Bears in December of last year. Chicago was reportedly high on Miller based on his level of player during training camp, so this must be a rather disappointing situation for them.
