Dan Parr of Pro Football Weekly writes that league evaluators are “enamored” with the explosiveness that Bears DT Henry Melton displays at times and one scout actually mentioned that he’s “loaded with ability.”
The Bears also see rare potential in Melton, but they want a more consistency from him as he enters the final year of his rookie contract.
Melton had a breakout performance Week One vs. the Falcons, when he sacked QB Matt Ryan twice and was credited with seven quarterback hits. He finished with a team-high 15 QB hits last season along with seven sacks which placed him among the league’s leading defensive tackles in the category.
