Bears Worked Out Three TEs Including Jace Amaro & Gavin Escobar

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears worked out three free agent tight ends on Monday including Jace Amaro, Devon Cajuste and Gavin Escobar.

Escobar, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $4.21 million rookie contract with the Cowboys and was testing the open market for the first time in his career when he signed a one-year. $885,000 contract that included $80,000 guaranteed with the Chiefs this offseason.

Unfortunately, Kansas City elected to Escobar loose coming out of the preseason. Escobar had a brief stint with the Ravens this year.

In 2016, Escobar appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and caught four passes for 30 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Amaro, 25, is a former second-round pick by the Jets of the 2014 NFL Draft. He lasted just two years in New York before he was waived at the start of last season and later claimed off of waivers by the Titans.

Amaro was entering the third year of his four-year, $4.29 million rookie contract that included $2.45 million guaranteed and was set to earn a base salary of $1,005,408 for the 2017 season but he was waived by the Titans as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Amaro appeared in three games and caught three passes for 59 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Titans.
