Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Bears players expect WR Kevin White‘s ankle injury to keep him out an “extended period of time.

Indications were that White could miss some time with this injury, but it’s still disappointing to hear. The Bears haven’t seen very much of White in terms of him being on the playing field since he entered the league last year.

White, 24, was taken with the No. 7 overall pick in last year’s draft. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $16.563 million contract and set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2016, White has appeared in four games and caught 19 receptions for 187 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 53 receiver out of 111 qualifying players.
