Ben Roethlisberger Has Knee Operation, Could Miss 4-6 Weeks

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger underwent minor right knee surgery Wednesday to “clean out some cartilage,” reports the Associated Press.

Roethlisberger has a long history of NFL bumps and bruises, but it’s been some time since his knees were the issue. He last had a knee procedure in 2005, which cost him just four weeks of recovery time.

During the 2012 season, Roethlisberger missed just three ball games with a rib/shoulder injury.

Head coach Mike Tomlin believes this procedure will not hinder Roethlisberger’s long-term health.
