Ben Tate Will Not Be Traded

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns will not be able to acquire RB Ben Tate from the Houston Texans.

Since RB Peyton Hillis has departed for the Kansas City Chiefs, rumors have surfaced that Tate could be traded to the Browns.

[It’s] not gonna happen,” writes Cabot. “Even if the Browns wanted him, the Texans aren’t dealing him.”

The Texans have one of the best one-two punches in the NFL with the combination of Arian Foster and Ben Tate, which makes it hard to envision that the Texans would be willing to breakup such a productive backfield, especially after the difficult offseason that they’ve endured thus far.

Cleveland will have to look for solutions at running back elsewhere. Trent Richardson would make a lot of sense for them at #4 depending on how you feel about taking a running back that early in the draft.
