Bengals Activate LB Vontaze Burfict From PUP List, Release WR Greg Little

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Saturday that they’ve officially activated LB Vontaze Burfict from the PUP list and released WR Greg Little to make room for him.

Previous reports had said that Burfict was expected to be a game-time decision for Week 8’s game against the Steelers, but it appears as though the team could be leaning towards him playing.

Burfict, 25, is in the second year of his four-year, $20 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.05 million for the 2015 season. He’ll make another $2.85 million and $3.75 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2014, Burfict was limited to appearing in five games and recorded 29 tackles, a forced fumble, a recovery and two pass defenses for the Bengals.

Little, 26, is a former second round pick of the Browns back in 2011. He spent three season in Cleveland before he was cut and later claimed off of waivers by the Raiders. The Bengals would later take a shot on him in October of last year.

However, he was cut loose by Cincinnati before the start of free agency. The Bengals elected to bring him back at the end of July.

In 2014, Little appeared in six games and recorded six receptions for 69 yards receiving.
