Bengals Assigned Former Vikings WR Moritz Boehringer As International Pathway Player

The NFL announced Tuesday that former Vikings WR Moritz Boehringer has been assigned to the Bengals as part of the league’s International Pathway Program.

Each AFC North team will be assigned an international player as part of the league’s program designed to develop more talent from around the world.

Bohringer, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2016. He signed a four-year deal worth $2,490,420 with Minnesota but was cut loose at the start of last year and later re-signed to the Vikings’ practice squad.

Bohringer returned to the Vikings on a future/reserve contract last January but he was once again cut loose. Bohringer actually worked out for the Bengals last year, but wasn’t signed to a contract and sat out the 2017 season.

In Germany, Boehringer caught 70 passes for 1,461 yards (20.9 YPR) and 16 touchdowns, which was good enough for Rookie of the Year honors.
