Bengals Bringing In WR Brandon LaFell For A Visit

Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that the Bengals are bringing in free agent WR Brandon LaFell for a visit.

The Bengals have an obvious need at receiver after Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu both departed for big contracts with the Lions and Falcons respectively.

Cincinnati did re-sign Brandon Tate, but they’re going to need more help at the position to ensure their offense doesn’t take a step back in 2016.

It’s worth mentioning that signing LaFell  to a contract wouldn’t factor into a team’s 2017 compensatory picks.

LaFell, 29, was in the final year of his three-year, $9 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $2.4 million for the 2016 season when the Patriots cut him loose less than a week before the start of free agency.

In 2015, LaFell appeared in 11 games for the Patriots and recorded 37 receptions for 515 yards receiving and and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 119 receiver out of 121 qualifying players.
