Bengals DC Paul Guenther Plans Leave Team, Explore Other Options

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Bengals DC Paul Guenther is planning to leave Cincinnati and explore other opportunities around the NFL.

A one situation worth keeping an eye on in regards to Guenther is the possibility of him teaming up with Jon Gruden in Oakland.

Adam Schefter recently reported that Guenther, whose contract is now up, is expected to be a leading candidate to become Gruden’s defensive coordinator with the Raiders.

Guenther, 46, began his NFL coaching career back in 2002 as an assistant coach for the Redskins. He left after two years to join the Bengals’ coaching staff and was eventually promoted to defensive coordinator after the team lost Mike Zimmer to the Vikings in 2014.

We’ll have more regarding Guenther as the news is available.
