Bengals Designate QB Jeff Driskel To Return From Injured Reserve

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Tuesday that they’ve designated QB Jeff Driskel to return from injured reserve.

This officially opens a three-week window of time for the Bengals to add him to their active roster or he’ll spend the duration of the 2017 season on injured reserve.

Driskel, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2016. He was waived by the 49ers at the start of the 2016 season and was later claimed off of waivers by the Bengals.

Driskel is currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.629 million contract.

During his college career, Driskel threw for 7,437 yards while completing 60.7 percent of his passes to go along with 50 touchdowns and 28 interceptions over the course of five seasons. He also rushed for 972 yards and 14 touchdowns.
