Bengals Expected To Sign LB Paul Dawson To Practice Squad After Clearing Waivers

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that LB Paul Dawson passed through waivers unclaimed on Monday and is expected to sign onto the Bengals’ practice squad.

  • Jim Owczarski mentions that the BengalsĀ hope this is a “wake up call” move forĀ Dawson.

The Bengals’ practice squad currently consists of:

  1. DE Ryan Brown
  2. HB Tra Carson
  3. DT David Dean
  4. CB Darius Hillary
  5. WR Jake Kumerow
  6. TE Matt Lengel
  7. CB Tony McRae
  8. G Alex Redmond
  9. WR Alonzo Russell

Dawson, 23, was taken in the third-round of last year’s draft with the No. 99 overall pick. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.896 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Dawson appeared in 11 games for the Bengals and recorded 12 tackles and a pass defense.
