Bengals Have Made Contract Proposals To QB Andy Dalton

Bengals QB Andy Dalton mentioned during an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio that he has received offers from the team.

“There have been talks about it. There have been a couple of proposals sent over and different things,” Dalton said on Monday. “We’re working. Hopefully, we can get something done.

“I’m not too worried about it. I know in the right timing everything is going to happen. Obviously, everyone would like to get something done sooner rather than later.

Bengals HC Marvin Lewis recently mentioned that he would like to get an extension in place at some point in the near future, so that Dalton can focus on football without distraction.

“We are hopeful we can get a deal done that works and Andy can put it behind him,” Lewis said, via the Cincinnati Enquirer. “He can get back focusing on football. He doesn’t have to go into the season and worry about this contract thing, every week someone is going to ask him a question … all those things that come into play later on. Let’s get it behind us.”

Bengals owner Mike Brown referred to Dalton’s contract situation as a Dalton’s contract situation as “dilemma” on Monday, so we’ll have to what type of contract is able to secure from Cincinnati.

Dalton, 26, is entering the final year of his rookie contract and should be interesting player to watch given that he has led the Bengals to the playoffs in each of his first three years in the league. However, they have managed to lose in the first-round all three times.

Last year, Dalton completed 61.9 percent of his passes for a career-high 4,296 yards 33 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
