Bengals Hoping To Re-Sign OT Anthony Collins Before Free Agency

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Bengals are “hoping” to re-sign OT Anthony Collins before the start of free agency next week.

  • Rapoport mentions that the left tackle market is going to be active, which could make it tough to prevent Collins from fielding offers from other teams.

Collins, 28, put together a solid season when it counted most. Cincinnati has said maintained that they would like to retain him and have even discussed the possibility of moving veteran OL Andrew Whitworth to left guard moving forward.

Collins can begin meeting with interested teams tomorrow, so I would say that it’s unlikely the Bengals will be able to persuade him from testing the open market given that a number of teams have cap space and a serious need at left tackle.

The Cardinals, Ravens, Dolphins and Falcons could all be teams to watch.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 24 offensive tackle in the league last season. We have Collins listed as the No. 38 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
