Bengals Hosted Veteran LB Rey Maualuga For Visit

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Bengals hosted veteran LB Rey Maualuga for a visit on Wednesday.

Cincinnati could use some depth at inside linebacker and Maualuga is an obvious fit, considering that he played several years for the Bengals.

Maualuga, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2009. He was entering the final year of his three-year, $15 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $3.7 million in 2017 when Cincinnati released him.

The Bengals released him several months ago in a move that created $3,668,750 in available cap space.

Miami signed him to a one-year, $900,000 contract back in August only to cut him loose after he was arrested in Miami last month.

In 2017, Maualuga has appeared in six games and recorded 23 total tackles.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
