Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer writes that the Bengals could target wide receivers Robert Meachem and Mario Manningham free agency. Reedy adds that free agent WR Jerome Simpson isn’t likely to return next season.
A.J. Green put together as good a rookie year as you can ask for but the teams’ depth at the position is very limited. Both players mentioned could fit into the #2 wide receiver role for the Bengals and they’re not going to require the type of money that it will take to land a guy like Vincent Jackson. Both seem like reasonable options for Cincinnati but because there price tag’s could be lower than other options, there’s likely to be plenty of interest in both players.
