Braylon Edwards Still Rehabbing His Knee, Bengals Seem Like A Strong Option

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer has confirmed that free agent WR Braylon Edwards is still in the process of rehabilitating his injury knee.

Edwards suffered a torn right meniscus back in Week 2 of last season, which led to him appearing in only nine games for the 49ers last season.

Edwards has yet to visit with a single team, but there have been recent reports of team’s being interested in signing him. Reedy even mentions that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Edwards is with the team for training camp in the near future.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Bengals and Jets have both shown interest in signing free agent WR Braylon Edwards.

There’s been some speculation the Jets could end up being an option for Edwards, but it’s interesting to see Cincinnati check in on him. Edward’s 2011 season with the 49ers was pretty bad to say the least. San Francisco wound up deactivating him late into the season, despite needing help at the receiver position.

Of the two teams, the Jets seem like the better option considering that the Bengals drafted Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones to go with A.J. Green.
