Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict Carted Off With Head Injury

Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict was taken off on a backboard during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Steelers after taking a brutal hit from WR JuJu Smith-Schuster.

The Bengals have already ruled him out for the game with a head injury.

Upon being taken into the locker room, Burfict convinced the medical staff to remove the straps and said he is fine.

Burfict, 27, wound up signing on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State back in 2012. He was in the final year of his four-year, $20 million contract when the Bengals signed him to a three-year $38.68M extension a few months ago.

In 2017, Burfict has appeared in eight games for the Bengals and recorded 60 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 10 linebacker out of 87qualifying players.
