Bengals Lose CB Leon Hall For The Season

Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was touted as a huge stepping stone for the up and coming Bengals. Despite losing the game, Cincinnati proved to be worthy of the record but wound up losing a key component to their formidable defense.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Leon Hall suffered a torn Achilles tendon during the game and will be out for the remainder of the season.

This is no doubt a huge loss for a quality defensive unit. The Bengals re-signed Hall to a five-year deal worth $42 million over a month ago. Losing Jonathan Joseph forced them to address Hall sooner rather than later as we would have been an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. This leaves Nate Clements as the teams top cornerback on the roster. Pacman Jones could see a good amount of playing time moving forward.
