Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer asked about Cedric Benson‘s future in Cincinnati on Twitter recently and Reedy responded by mentioning that he could see a “mutual parting of ways” coming.
Benson has resurrected his career in Cincinnati after a disappointing start in Chicago but Benson will be 29 next season and he’s had multiple off-the-field incidents throughout his career. The Bengals are a young team that building for the future and spending money on Benson doesn’t seem to best decision at this point in time.
Instead, I could see the Bengals using one of their two first-round picks on running back. Speculative options could include Miami’s LaMarr Miller and Virginia Tech’s David Wilson.
