Bengals Place LB Malik Jefferson On IR, Promote LB Chris Worley

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Tuesday that they’ve placed LB Malik Jefferson on injured reserve and promoted LB Chris Worley to their active roster.

  • The Bengals also signed DB Chris Cooper to their practice squad.

Jefferson, 22, was selected with the No. 78 overall pick by the Bengals in the third round of this year’s draft. He agreed to a four-year, $3,383,728 contract that includes a $923,728 signing bonus.

In 2018, Jefferson appeared in 12 games for the Bengals and recorded 10 tackles and no sacks or interceptions.

During his three-year college career at Texas, Jefferson recorded 231 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, five pass defenses, one fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles.
