Bengals Place RB Giovani Bernard On Injured Reserve

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Tuesday that they’ve officially placed RB Giovani Bernard on injured reserve.

  • The Bengals also signed LS Tyler Ott to their practice squad.

Bernard, unfortunately, suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s game, so this move doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

Bernard, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $16.6 million contract when he signed a three-year, $15 million extension with the Bengals back in June.

In 2016, Bernard appeared in 10 games for the Bengals and ran for 337 yards on 91 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with 39 receptions for 336 yards receiving and three total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 running back out of 53 qualifying players.
