X-Rays On Andy Dalton’s Injured Thumb Come Back Negative

Ian Rapoport reports that Bengals QB Andy Dalton will undergo more tests on his thumb, but the good news is that X-Rays were negative and showed no fracture.


Bengals QB Andy Dalton suffered a thumb injury during the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Browns and has been ruled out.

Dalton was injured while trying to recover a bad snap that sailed over his head.

Dalton has been replaced by Jeff Driskel at quarterback.

Dalton, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2011. He’s currently in the fifth year of his seven-year, $97.09 million contract, which includes $17 million guaranteed.

Dalton stands to make base salaries of $13.7 million and $16 million over the next two years of the agreement.
Entering today’s game, Dalton had appeared in 10 games for the Bengals and thrown for 2,466 yards while completing 62.1 percent of his passes to go along with 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
