Thompson visited with the Seahawks since free agency opened a few weeks ago. However, it looks like a return to Cincinnati was his best option.

Thompson, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He has played out the final year of his four-year, $2,636,200 rookie contract and was testing the market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time.

Thompson’s 2015 season came to an end after he sustained a season-ending ACL tear and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.

Last year, Thompson appeared nine games and recording eight tackles and a half sack for the Bengals.
