Bengals Re-Sign WR Brandon Tate

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Bengals have re-signed WR Brandon Tate to a one-year deal.

Tate, 25, tallied 13 receptions for 211 yards and a single touchdown last season. He also was a contributor on special teams were he averaged 24.8 yards per kick return.

It’s hard to imagine Tate having a major role in their offense, barring an injury, but he’s at least an effective special team’s player for them.

Cincinnati continues to focus on retaining their free agents versus spending big money on other available high-priced options. The Bengals have plenty of cap space to work with, so a new contract for RT Andre Smith could be next.
