Report: Bengals Reach Out To DT Jay Ratliff

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the Cincinnati Bengals have reached out to free agent DT Jay Ratliff in recent days.

  • Rapoport adds that Ratliff is still “weeks away” from contributing on the field.

The Bengals are in need of immediate help at defensive tackle now that Geno Atkins is out for the year with a torn ACL. With this in mind, it’s really no surprise that they would check in with Ratliff, who has already met with the Bears, Chiefs and Dolphins since being released by the Cowboys.

Ratliff, 32, underwent sports hernia surgery last year, but unfortunately suffered a hamstring injury during the preseason that has kept him out since.

Other speculative options for Ratliff include the 49ers and Patriots
