Bengals Release DE Robert Geathers & WR Greg Little, Free Up $3.795M In Cap Space

The Cincinnati Bengals announced the release of veteran DE Robert Geathers and WR Greg Little on Friday.

According to OverTheCap.com, the two moves will free up $3.795 million for the Bengals and create no dead money.

Geathers, 31, still had another year remaining on his three-year, $9.5 million contract, which included a base salary of $2.85 million for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Geathers appeared in 16 games and recorded 21 tackles, one sack, an interception and three pass defenses for the Bengals’ defense.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the worst defensive end in a 4-3 defense out of all the qualifying players. The low rating was due in large part to his struggles as a pass rusher.

Little, 25, signed on with the Bengals back in October of last year. He appeared in six games and recorded six receptions for 69 yards receiving.
