Bengals Reportedly Discussing A Long-Term Deal With LB Vontaze Burfict

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Bengals and LB Vontaze Burfict are currently discussing a contract extension.

Burfict, 23, is entering the final year of his rookie contract and will make just $570,000 for the 2014 season.

This is, of course, due to the fact that he went undrafted out of Arizona State back in 2012 due to numerous concerns.

However, he quickly developed into one of the Bengals best linebackers and surprisingly led the NFL tackles last season.

Burfict is in line for a large raise and it will be interesting to see what kind of money he’s able to secure.

Last year, he totaled 170 tackles, three sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, two recoveries and a defensive touchdown.
