Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Bengals RT Andre Smith is in fact out for the season due to a tear in the tricep/bicep area.

  • According to Rapoport, Smith will need to undergo surgery next week to repair the injury, which effectively ends his 2014 campaign.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that Bengals RT Andre Smith is believed to have suffered a “significant” tear to his triceps.

  • Garafolo adds that Smith will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the full extent of the injury.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that Smith’s season could be in jeopardy.

Smith was ruled out for the game not long after he suffered the injury, which is usually a pretty clear sign that its a serious injury.

Smith, 27, is in the second year of his three-year, $18 million contract that included $5 million guaranteed. He still has a base salary of $4.6 million to go along with $1 million in per-game roster bonuses coming his way in 2015.

Pro Football Focus has Smith rated as the No. 43 offensive tackle out of 76 qualifying players.
