Bengals Sign 5 Players To Futures Deals

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Monday that they’ve signed five players to future/reserve contracts including:

  • DE Ryan Brown
  • DT David Dean
  • CB Tony McRae
  • G Alex Redmond
  • WR Alonzo Russell

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

McRae, 23, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina A&T back in May. However, he, unfortunately, lasted less than a week in Oakland before he was waived.

The Bengals signed him to a contract close to a month ago before later cutting him loose coming out of the preseason. Cincinnati signed McRae to their practice squad a day later. McRae was released from the unit a few weeks into the regular season and later signed to their practice squad in November.

During his college career at North Carolina A&T, McRae recorded 87 solo tackles, 57 unassisted tackles, six interceptions and 23 pass defenses. He also totaled 995 kick return yards and two touchdowns on 41 attempts.
