Bengals Sign DT Pat Sims To A One-Year, $870K Deal

The Cincinnati Bengals announced the signing of veteran DT Pat Sims on Thursday.

  • Paul Dehner Jr reports that Sims receives a one-year deal worth $870,000 for the 2015 season.

Recent reports had said that the Bengals were serious about bringing Sims back to bolster their interior defensive line depth.

Sims, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Bengals back in 2008. He played out his rookie contract before signing on with the Raiders back in March of 2013, and is now among the best available interior defensive linemen.

In 2014, Sims appeared in all 16 games for Oakland and recorded 25 tackles and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 53 defensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
