Bengals Sign HC Marvin Lewis To A One-Year Extension

The Cincinnati Bengals announced that they’ve signed HC Marvin Lewis to a one-year extension on Wednesday that will keep him with the team through the 2016 season.

There had been talk that an extension was going to come at some point for Lewis, as this would  prevent him from being a “lame duck” coach in 2015.

Lewis has been with the Bengals since 2003 and is the second longest tenured head coach in the NFL behind only Bill Belichick of the Patriots.

Lewis coaching with the Bengals is 100–89–2 (.526 win percentage), but has yet win a single playoff game in six appearances. It’s really surprising to see a coach last this long with an NFL without having a single playoff victory.

To his credit, the Bengals have had a winning record for four straight years and have won three AFC North titles during his time in Cincinnati.
