Bengals Sign S Shawn Williams To A Four-Year, $19.5M Extension

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Tuesday that they’ve signed S Shawn Williams to four-year contract extension.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Williams receives a four-year extension worth $19.5 million and includes $4 million guaranteed.
  • According to Mike Garafolo, the contract includes another $2 million available in incentives.

Williams, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.761 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $685,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Bengals and recorded 32 tackles, two interceptions and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 43 safety out of 89 qualifying players.
