Update:

Eric Winston has already confirmed the news via his Twitter account.

Geoff Hobson first reported that the Cincinnati Bengals were close to signing veteran OT Eric Winston to a contract on Tuesday.

  • Mike Garafolo has confirmed that the Bengals have in fact agreed to terms with Winston.
  • Pro Football Talk reports that Winston receives a one-year contract from the Bengals.

Winston, 31, signed on with the Seahawks back in July after finding very little interest on the open market. Some mentioned that his position as the NFLPA president could have played a role in the lack of interest.

However, Winston was unable to make Seattle’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. He later visited with a few teams including the Eagles and Vikings.

Last year, Winston appeared in all 16 games for Arizona, but graded out as the No. 69 tackle in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.
