Jim Owczarski of the Cincinnati Enquirer, citing a league source, reports that the Bengals have agreed to a three-year extension with FB/TE Ryan Hewitt.

Hewitt, 25, wound up signing on with the Bengals as undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2014. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.54 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.

Hewitt would have been a restricted free agent next year.

In 2015, Hewitt appeared in 15 games and caught eight passes for 99 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Bengals. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 49 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.
