Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bengals are, in fact, signing veteran LB Karlos Dansby to a contract on Tuesday.

This comes shortly after Geoff Hobson reported that contract talks between the Bengals and Dansby were heating up and the two sides could be close to a deal.

The Bengals brought Dansby in a for a visit last week, which was his first reported meeting since he became available.

Dansby previously indicated that the Bengals could have interest.

Yeah, I think the Bengals are licking their chops right now,’‘ Dansby said, via Mary Kay Cabot. “I hope they are. We’ll see what it is.”

It’s worth mentioning that signing Dansby to a contract won’t factor into the Bengals’ 2017 compensatory picks.

Dansby, 34, was in the third year of his four-year, $24 million contract that included $12 million guaranteed when he was released in a move that freed up $3.5 million in available cap space for the Cardinals.

In 2015, Dansby appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and recorded 109 tackles, three interceptions with two being returned for touchdowns, three forced fumbles and six pass defenses.
