Bengals TE Tyler Eifert Expected To Be Out An Extended Period Of Time With Dislocated Elbow

Should the Bengals go this route with their young tight end, he would miss the first eight games of the season.

Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that the Bengals believe TE Tyler Eifert sustained a dislocated elbow during Sunday’s game.

  • As of now, the expectation is that Eifert will likely be out for an extended period of time following the injury.
  • Former Chargers’ head team physician, David Choo, mentioned shortly after Eifert went down that he expects him miss “several weeks” due to the dislocated elbow.

Eifert was expected to be a much larger past of the team’s passing offense this year, so this is obviously a tough break for both him and the Bengals.

Cincinnati took Eifert with the No. 21 overall pick last year. During his rookie season, Eifert appeared in 15 games and caught 39 passes for 445 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

We’ll have more details as the news is available.
