Bengals Trying To Sign CB Terence Newman?

Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the Cincinnati Bengals are “working to add” former Cowboys CB Terence Newman.

We would love to still add terence to our football team,” said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. “As he said his best years of his career was when he was playing for Mike Zimmer. So he is excited about that opportunity to. Hopefully we will get something concluded here fairly quickly.”

Newman, 33, is coming off of a terrible season in Dallas so it’s hard to imagine him being an effective player for the Bengals next season. Cincinnati has already signed Jason Allen and Adam Jones to go along with Leon Hall so the addition of Newman would have more to do adding some depth to the teams’ secondary.
