Bengals Unlikely To Re-Sign TE Jermaine Gresham

According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, there appears to be a “very good possibility” that TE Jermaine Gresham won’t be back in Cincinnati next season.

Hobson suggests that the Bengals should look for someone who can replace Gresham as a blocker, even if he isn’t as a good of a receiving option for them next year.

There are some qualify tight end options available in free agency this year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Gresham found a decent amount of interest.

Gresham, 26, will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks and it sounds as though he’ll be playing for a new team at the start of the 2014 season.

Cincinnati used a first-round pick on him back in 2010, but he never managed to live up to his draft status with the team.

In 2014, Gresham caught 62 passes for 460 yards receiving and five touchdowns over the course of 15 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 37 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.
