Bengals Waive S Cedric Thompson With Injury Settlement

According to Paul Dehner Jr., the Bengals waived S Cedric Thompson with an injury settlement on Saturday.

Thompson, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins in 2015. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason during his rookie season, but was later added to the Dolphins’ practice squad at the start of the season.

The Patriots eventually signed him off of the Dolphins’ practice squad and later brought him back on a future reserve contract. Thompson was once again waived during the preseason and this time signed onto the Vikings practice squad during the 2016 regular season.

Minnesota elected to sign Thompson to a futures deal this past January but was waived. He signed on with the Bengals back in July.

Thompson has yet to appear in an NFL game.
