Bengals Waive WR James Wright, Place Vontaze Burfict & Margus Hunt On PUP List

The Cincinnati Bengals announced several roster moves on Tuesday including that they’ve waived/injured WR James Wright.

• Cincinnati placed LB Vontaze Burfict, DE Margus Hunt, and LB Sean Porter on the active/PUP list.
• The Bengals also placed first-round OT Cedric Ogbuehi on the active/non-Football Injury.

Wright, 23, was a seventh-round selection of the Bengals just last year. He wound up making the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but it appears as though they prefer to take a look at their other options at receiver.

Wright has three years remaining on his four-year, $2,269,824 rookie contract, which includes a base salary of $510,000 for the upcoming season.

In 2014, Wright appeared in 11 games for the Bengals and caught five passes for 91 yards receiving to go along with three rushing attempts for 30 yards.
