Bengals Working To Re-Sign CB Dre Kirkpatrick

According to Jason La Canfora, the Bengals are “focused” on re-signing impending free agent CB Dre Kirkpatrick and have a strong offer currently on the table.

Previous reports have linked Kirkpatrick to the Steelers and Titans and some estimates have said he could come close to $10 million per year as part of a long-term deal.

Kirkpatrick, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $8.622 million rookie contract, but Cincinnati picked up his fifth-year option that paid him $7.507 million for the 2016 season.

Kirkpatrick is now in a position to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Kirkpatrick appeared in 15 games for the Bengals and recorded 46 tackles, three interceptions and 10 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. receiver out of qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
