Bengals Working To Re-Sign DT Pat Sims

Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports that Cincinnati is trying to close an agreement with free agent DT Pat Sims.

Hobson mentions that a deal that has been “simmering for weeks” and notes that Sims’ agent, John Thornton, lives in the same neighborhood as two Bengals negotiators Katie and Troy Blackburn.

Sims, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Bengals back in 2008. He spent five years in Cincinnati before signing on with the Raiders as an unrestricted free agent in 2013.

Sims later returned to the Bengals last year and is once again an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Sims appeared in eight games for the Bengals and recorded 16 tackles and no sacks. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 218 snaps last year.

  1. Really???? Will the Bengals ever go out and sign a difference making FA??? I’m tired of them keeping signing low end FAs that have been on the team! If you can’t win with them don’t you think they need some new blood??? Players drafted never see the field for 2 years so they do not count as new blood. The Bengals are so close, but need an impact FA to put them over the hump.
