Big Changes Coming To The Rams O-Line?

Howard Balzer of 101 ESPN St. Louis writes that Rams C/G Jason Brown will most likely be released at some point during the offseason which coincides with what NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora proposed yesterday.

Brown signed a five-year, $37.5 million contract a few years ago but has since lost his starting job Tony Wragge. The Rams would have to pay him $10 million in base salary for the upcoming season and there’s no way that that is going to happen, especially when you consider that the team has already added a new coach and general manager.

It’s really been no secret that the Rams will have to address their offensive line during the offseason and they’re really in a great position to do so in this years draft. Many have the Rams taking USC OT Matt Kalil at #2 but even if they trade down, they’ll have a shot at Iowa OT Riley Reiff. We actually have the Rams trading with the Redskins and doing just that in our most recent 2012 NFL Mock Draft.
