Bills Continue To Talk About Drafting QB

It seems like it’s every week now that Bills GM Buddy Nix is discussing the possibility of drafting a new quarterback. That continued again on Friday as Nix went as far to say that he would even consider trading up for one in next year’s draft.

“Let me say this: I think there’s a time that in the era that you’re in and the development of your team, there’s a time when you can move up a round to take a quarterback,” Nix said, via the Buffalo News. “And I think the time’s now for us … We need a good, young quarterback, and we’re going to do our best to get him.”

It’s pretty clear that they no longer view Ryan Fitzpatrick as their long-term quarterback. The idea of moving up for a solid prospect is interesting, but according to numerous draft experts; there isn’t a quarterback that is a cant-miss prospect in this year’s draft class. Buffalo should secure at least a Top 15, so maybe they address a different position with their first selection and then trade back into the first-round for a quarterback like Matt Barkley or Tyler Wilson.
