Bills Cut LB Gerald Hodges

Pro Football Talk reports that the Bills are releasing veteran LBĀ Gerald Hodges on Sunday.

Hodges, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2013. Minnesota elected to trade Hodges to the 49ers in return for aĀ sixth-round pick and C Nick Easton back in 2015.

Hodges played out the final year of his four-year, $2.58 million rookie contractĀ and signed a one-year deal with the Bills this offseason.

He met with several teams while on the open market, so it will be interesting to see if he can gain the same amount of interest again as a free agent.

In 2016, Hodges appeared in 15 games for the 49ers and recorded 83 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.
