Bills Exec. Lake Dawson Has 2nd Interview For Panthers’ GM Job

Tom Pelissero reports that the Panthers are not close to offering their GM position to anyone amidst multiple NFL investigations.

However, Pelissero adds that the Panthers interviewed Lake Dawson a second time and view him as a “strong candidate” for the position.

Last night, Jason La Canfora reported the Panthers’ decision regarding their next GM could come quickly and the expectation is that they will end up hiring an outside candidate. La Canfora added that the NFL office watching this situation closely.

Dawson is among three external candidates that have interviewed for the Panthers’ position include 49ers personnel executive Martin Mayhew and Texans assistant GM Jimmy Raye III.

Panthers interim GM Marty Hurney also interviewed the full-time position but he’s currently paid leave after his ex-wife accused him of harassment last week.

Previous reports have said that while the Panthers are conducting a GM search, Hurney is the favorite for the job. However, it appears as though the investigation may have changed things from their perspective.

We’ll have more regarding the Panthers’ GM search as the news is available.
